Travel Guide: Rome

Here are some amazing places to see in Rome:

Trevy Fountain

Colosseum

Piazza Navona

 Spanish Steps

Most Delicious Restaurant that we went twice!

Alla Rampa: to the right of the Spanish Steps

Mussolini Palace

The Vatican

Sorry for the silly ponchos!

While at the Vatican make sure to go to Old Bridge Gelato! It is the best gelato in Rome and is where all the locals go :)

Catacombs: Catacomba di Domitilla

Has one of the oldest Christian paintings out there and the tour is only a half hour and totally worth it!

Last but not least don't forget to go shopping at Via del Corso! There are some great high-end luxury stores as well as the usual Zara.

This is just a little peak at the wonderful things we experienced on our trip together. Rome is such a beautiful ancient city and we hope to be able to go back together the future!

A Little Afternoon Tea

Mariage Frere is a great place for some afternoon tea! M & I love going there just to talk and relax. There is a store to purchase different delicious imported teas as well as a restaurant to sit down and sip some. The tea and the atmosphere are instantly soothing and the stress of the day is washed away. Here are some pictures of one of our tea dates. M also got a great tart with creme brulee on the top and strawberries and creme on the bottom. It was so tasty!

There are numerous locations but we personally like the one in the Marais. It has a great 17th century feel and the waiters are awesome and very knowledgeable in teas and the pastries there. If you have time try to stop by for a calm but chatty afternoon!

Tell Me About It, Stud

It seems that studs have taken over Paris. They can literally be found on everything: shoes, bags, dresses, scarves (yes even scarves), and shirts! Often times the studs are soft and not too extreme, but I have literally seen people wearing full on spikes. I mean come on! If you fall you could really hurt someone! I adore the stud look, the softer stuff for sure, and recently embraced the trend by buying a studded pair of Zara boots (see below!).

I am obsessed with my boots, they are very versatile and are perfect for day and for night. Here are some other studded looks that we are loving:

I feel that this trend has some really staying power and that we will see it carrying through winter! So whether you like them soft or sharp, keep rocking those studs!

Old Friends and New

Perhaps one of the best parts of studying abroad is how it can bring you together with new friends and old! This weekend I got to host one of my oldest friends who I have not seen in forever and her fab roommate! So fun!

Have a great Saturday everyone!!!

Paris: The Dream

Paris has been a dream for M & I since high school. With only 6 weeks left we are getting sad that we will be leaving the place we fantasized about for so many years. Of course we'll be back but it will not be the same.

Lazy Sunday

Paris is notorious for being incredibly slow and lazy on Sundays. Many stores shut down for the day and Parisians can be found enjoying their day off taking walks in the park or enjoying a cafe au lait at one of the few cafes that is actually still open. While it can be a little annoying that so many places are closed on Sunday, the city gives off a truly relaxed vibe that makes for a peaceful and relaxing day!

Dressing comfortably is key for the perfect lazy Sunday. We're in Paris though, and even though it is Sunday, sweatpants, sweatshirts, and running shoes are still a complete and total no no! Finding the perfect balance of comfy and chic can be a challenge but M & I have gotten it down to a science. Here are the key pieces to achieve looking fab while still being comfortable enough to lounge in the park with a book for a few hours!

Cozy sweaters are the perfect top for a lazy day! They're super warm, cozy, and perfect for lounging around while still looking pulled together.

Leggings are truly the best! They are so comfortable yet still look polished!

A chunky scarf is perfect for crisp fall days and is so great for snuggling in!

Looking great while still maintaining comfort is simple if you're working with the right basic pieces! Hope you having as nice of a Sunday as we are!
