A Time to Learn & Grow

"Sometimes you need to step outside, clear your head and remind yourself of who you are. And where you wanna be. And sometimes you have to venture outside your world in order to find yourself"

Here's to a semester of adventure, learning, laughing, and growing. Let's not take life too seriously, and live everyday to the absolute fullest.

3 days!

A Word From Hemingway

"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast"

Paris Hot Spots

Maria and I have both visited Paris in the past (clearly, we loved it so much that we decided to call it home for several month!) During our previous trips, we both visited some of France's most famous landmarks. Everything from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre, there are so many fabulous landmarks dotted throughout the city. So whether you'll be visiting Paris in the near future or dream of getting there in the distant future, here is our list of the top places you need to see while in Paris.

Eiffel Tower: No landmark captures the essence of Paris better than the Eiffel Tower. It is simply stunning in person! You can climb to the top for an amazing view of the city, or sit in the expansive green space that lies beneath it, enjoying a crepe, soaking in the beauty. I was just in Paris this past June (the later photo is myself and some friends hanging out beneath the Eiffel Tower!) and my favorite night was spent sitting on the lawn, sharing a bottle of wine and some cheese with friends. So fab, and so french.

The Louvre: Simply one of the most beautiful museums in the world! The Mona Lisa is a most see and the building its self is stunning!

Le Sacre Coeur: To me, this small yet stunning church provides one of the most gorgeous views of the city. It is located at the highest point of the city! Climb the stairs to the top and you will be thrilled by the view! There are also lots of great shops and cafes in the neighborhood. Oh, and the Moulin Rouge is right up the street! Another great spot! The surrounding sex stores will for sure make you laugh.

Musee D'orsay: This is without a doubt my favorite museum. Set in an old train station, the building itself is beyond stunning! The artwork is fantastic as well. Less crowded than the Louvre, it is a great place to spend the afternoon!

Champs Elyees & L'Arc de Triomphe: This tree lined street is simply stunning and hosts the beautiful L'Arc de Triomphe. There is great shopping that ranges from very expensive to very affordable! It is one of my favorite spots in the city

Notre Dame & The Latin Quarter: Notre Dame is argued to be one of the most beautiful churches in the world, and it really is. The garden in the back is also stunning! Just blocks away is the latin district which hosts tons of fun restaurants, bars, and shops!

Note, these are all very touristy spots! We have yet to uncover Paris's hidden gems... those will be coming the future once we've spent some time living in the city ;]  What's your favorite Paris site?!

Things To Look Forward To

Fantasizing about all the fabulous things I am going to do in Paris seems to consume me these days. There are so many things Maria and I want to do during our time in the city so I decided to make a fun list of all things we are looking forward to!

Paris in the rain. After watching Midnight in Paris and hearing how much Owen Wilson just adores the city when it's raining has made me actually quite excited to explore the city while the rain comes pouring down!
Macaroons. Nothing can compare to a macaroon from Laudree. They are divine and I cannot wait to occasionally indulge with a chocolate one :]

Champagne. For some reason I am dying to pop open a bottle of champagne with friends and sip it under the Eiffel Tower. I have drank wine there before but champagne just has the je ne sais quoi.

Landmarks and Museums. The city is filled with some of the most famous landmarks and museums in the entire world! I can't wait to have them at my fingertips.

Shopping. The shopping in Paris is truly unparalleled! I cannot wait to buy everything and anything.

The Food. I absolutely love all of the food in France. It is so fresh and delicious and I am very lucky that I will also be able to cook all of my own food since I will be living in a private apartment!

Cannot wait to immerse myself in the culture!!

As our departure date creeps closer and closer, I cannot help but be so excited! It seems that every other thought I have these days revolves around Paris! I decided to look up some cute quotes and pictures on pinterest pertaining to travel and adventure, looking for inspiration and even some laughs. These are just a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Paris is Always a Good Idea

Hi everyone and welcome to our first blog! Maria and I are college juniors about to embark on a three month study abroad program in none other than Paris, France. The two of us share a love of clothes, all things french, pinterest, cooking, shopping, traveling, the beach, our sorority AOII, and of course, everything and anything preppy ;]  We decided to start our blog in order to document our time in Paris. We promise to share all of the fabulous food, sites, and experiences we encounter! Oh, and of course we will show off our outfits of the day. Only three more weeks till we're on a plane heading for France! The excitement is building as we finish shopping for our Paris closets and begin planning on how we are going to fit so much stuff into two tiny suitcases! September 2nd simply cannot come soon enough!
